Sharp as a Tac
What are Supercut Scissors & What makes them 'Super'?
Commonly used in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, Supercut Scissors have a specially designed razor-sharp upper blade edge that cuts effortlessly through tissue allowing for a precise cut. The lower blade has micro-fine serrations which grip and hold tissue steady to prevent slippage. This is how they differ from ordinary scissors, including those with Tungsten Carbide inserts or manufactured from Titanium.
Super Cut Scissors with their razor edge and micro serrations provide precise control of cutting in difficult areas during surgery. They cut their way forward more accurately. Literally speaking, the cutting edges obey the hands and mind of the surgeon most precisely. The cutting margins/ edges are honed to eliminate any traumatisation of the tissues during cutting action.
How Can I Tell If Scissors Are Supercut?
Most common Supercut Scissors are identifiable with black ring handles however, our PRO-MED branded Supercut Scissors are manufactured with one golden ring on the handle as it has been identified that the procedure of black coating is rather toxic and environmentally problematic. Further to this, our Scissors are brushed with a non-glare finish to prevent reflection from lamps in the operating theatre which can often occur with mirrored finished instruments.
